Soon after the first book the second one was published The Bettter To See You and now almost 7 months later we are already telling you about the third. Along Came a Spider and this Paranormal Romance series is getting better and better!
In this installment we are following the life of Trish Muffet (little Miss Muffet), a crime scene investigator. With the ability to see/re-live the last few moments of a victims life. When Trish is attacked, Nicky “Little Boy Blue” a.k.a. The Spider comes to the rescue.
“My wrist is broken,” I said a little breathlessly. “But it’s already healing. I’ll be fine by tomorrow.”
He gave me a tight nod and started to rise, but then seemed to reconsider and resumed his crouch before me. He studied me for a long moment, giving me a good glimpse of his eyes, but they were in shadow, obscuring the color, and he was completely on his guard. There was no way I was getting in.
“You did good, doll,” he said finally. “Made my job one helluva lot easier.”
I felt my cheeks going warm at the praise. “Thanks.”
His eyes narrowed, crinkling a little behind his ski mask and giving me the impression that he was grinning. “But you know, you shouldn’t be out here alone at night, even if you can kick ass,” he admonished. Then he reached up and twisted one of my ringlets around his gloved index finger and pulled gently before letting it spring back into place. “I’d hate to see harm come to a girl as pretty as you.”
My eyes went wide. Holy shit. “Nicky Blue?” I gasped. “You’re the Spider?” He jumped to his feet and took a few quick steps before I found my voice to cry out, “Wait! Nicky! It’s okay—I know you!”
He halted midstride and shook his head. “No, you don’t,” he said over his shoulder. “No one does. Not anymore.”
Just like spider man, Nicky want revenge over his wife’s death. He want to take down Dracula and nothing is standing in his way but Dracula (Vlad) starts haunting her dreams she realizes that Nicky is the only person that can help her.
The Transplanted Tales Series contains everything you need to be become one of your favorite series. Along Came A Spider also contains just like the previous books a fun note and together with the paranormal beings (Tales) action/detective elements, Romance and the wicked wold-building and characters of Kate SeRine a deadly mix to ensure you that you never put these books down!
You can read these books separate or just start with this installment. But you will miss out a lot of background and important info about the other characters. Certainly the beginning wit Red (the first book) is worth to read over and over. Better yet you have 2 more books to read right after that one 🙂
A highly recommended Series!
Finished this one! What now? A Transplanted Tales novella and at least one more full-length Transplanted Tales novel coming in 2014! The novella, GRIMM CONSEQUENCES, is a sequel to RED and is a continuation of the story of Nate Grimm and Tess “Red” Little. GRIMM CONSEQUENCES is tentatively scheduled for publication in February 2014.
Book 4 of the Transplanted Tales series will be Gideon’s story! The title for Book 4 is still pending. Publication is tentatively planned for fall 2014.
