Genre: Science Fiction / Futuristic / Cyborg Romance
Length: 49, 500 (short novel)
ISBN: 978 1927 459 010

She thought herself a robot, defective and unique among her kind, until he taught her how to live again. I dreamt I was once human. I lived a nightmare as a robot. But love taught me I was more than a machine.

GO METAL!

Blurb:
F814 exists to serve the humans until they decide to terminate her. An instinct for survival makes her fight, but when she achieves freedom, she discovers she cannot throw off the chains of habit. Everything changes when another flesh covered droid arrives, a cyborg he calls himself, who teaches her she is more than a machine.

Solus hates humanity, and even though he was born as a flawed human, he strives to eradicate all traces of it from his persona—until he meets F814. Meeting and touching her releases something in him. Has him yearning for things he doesn’t understand. Makes him long for…affection.

Before he can learn to love though, he must first tackle the task of reminding F814 that she is more than the sum of her mechanical parts. But of course, when dealing with an illogical thing like emotions, there is no sure plan for success.

Warning: May induce a craving for a cyborg of your own.
The Cyborgs: More Than Machines books can be read as stand alone stories, however, for total reader enjoyment it is recommended you read them in order.

Exerpt (Adult Content Ahead):

“Do you recall anything of your past?” Solus asked. “Name? Occupation?”

For a moment, her eyes took on a faraway cast. She shook her head. “Nothing.”

Why was she lying? He could tell she remembered something. Did her programming perhaps interfere with her ability to recall?

“She needs a name,” Seth said slapping the table.

She has a name,” she replied tersely. “F814.”

“No, that is the name the humans gave you. You need to choose something different. Something uniquely yours.”

“Why?”

“Because it’s what we all did when we became liberated. Threw off the chains of our oppressors and retook our identities.”

“I wasn’t liberated, I was kidnapped,” she answered with a pointed look in Solus’s direction.

“For your own good,” Solus reminded.

“Says you.” Her sassy remark made him smile, an expression Aramus caught.

“I’m leaving. All th

is happy feely crap is making my iron stomach churn.”

The large, grumpy cyborg left, leaving Seth to gesticulate wildly with his hands as he expounded the benefits of many names, all of which made her shake her head.

“Enough!” Solus didn’t mean to shout. “Leave her alone. If she wants a new name, she can take one, else she can keep the one she has. She’s free now. It’s her choice. I need to return to the bridge. F814, would you like me to show you to your quarters.”

She nodded. “Yes. Some time to ponder what I’ve learned would be welcome.”

“It’s been a day of surprises for you. Rest, and when you feel rejuvenated, if you have any questions, then I or the others will answer them.”

“Sleep tight, darling,” Seth called. “And if you need company, let me know.”

Solus couldn’t stop the one finger salute he sent his cyborg brother over his shoulder as he escorted her out.

“Is he always so…” She paused for a moment. “Human?”

“Unfortunately, yes. His model is the more advanced spy prototype meaning he kept more of the mannerisms than most of us made in the early batches.”

“Is it normal to feel an urge to kill him because he seems so like them?”

Solus laughed. “Don’t worry, you’re only one of many. It’s why he’s involved in more than his fair share of fights. We tell him it’s because his model is better equipped to handle the damage.”

“But?” she asked peering over at him.

“I just like hitting him with my fist because at least then he stops talking.”

A rusty chuckle slipped from her, a sound she tried to stop with a hand slapped over her mouth.

He pried it loose. “Don’t stop. Laugh. Allow yourself to find enjoyment in simple things.”

She allowed the hand to fall free, but the moment of mirth had passed.

“What do you do for pleasure?” she asked.

He knew what he’d like to do—strip her naked and lick every inch of her body before thrusting into her and pumping her to climax. What he said though, which was a secret he’d never revealed to anybody else, was, “Garden and cook.”

He looked so appalled at his revelation that the laughter bubbled up again, spilling forth and increasing the more indignant he appeared.

And he was right, she did enjoy it.

“I’m glad you find my pastimes so entertaining,” he said with a scowl.

“I don’t.” She laughed again. “Sorry. I’m not sure why I find it so amusing, especially since I only understand one of your two hobbies. I know cooking is to prepare food, but I am not sure what gardening entails. My definition is to care for growing vegetation, however, I’ve never seen any, so I am not sure what that means.”

“Then what’s so funny?”

“The expression on your face when you said it. I do not think you meant to tell me.”

“I didn’t.”

“Did your processor malfunction?”

“No. But you’ve had enough lies already to mar your existence. I thought you deserved the truth. But don’t tell anyone.”

“Or?” she teased, a light and buoyant feeling coursing through her.

“Or I’ll have to shut you up,” he warned.

“And how will you do that?” she asked caught by the intriguing look in his eye. She’d seen that smoldering regard before—in the shower once she calmed down. On the table during the examination, and now…only now he leaned in close, and his finger tilted her chin higher.

“Like this.” His lips covered hers, a light and brief contact that took her by surprise.   Eve Langlais, F814

My Thoughts:
Where can I buy my hot metal alfa male? I think this could really become a hit if we could buy these guys on some online web shop 🙂 Nice for al those lonely woman sitting home reading way to much **uche uche ** spicy Sci-fi books. F814 is a great read and hard to think of but i think i liked this one even better than the first book. This book is written with great character building, the characters are really starting to develop in this second book. You get a great look at Solus’ background and what he suffered. Seth steps out of his “human” status. F814 contains a lot of strong elements like comedy, tears, anger and love. This is not a story for anyone under 18. If you have never read any sci-fi robot type stories then you should definitely pick this series up. F814 is wonderful but ends with a big cliffhanger. Little disappointed about that! I really hate cliffhangers….. Can’t wait for B785’s story!. *Sign*
