Today I have Angelique Trinette, the heroine of Skin Deep, with me for a few questions about her magical tattoo and her love life.

1. Angelique, how did you get your magical panther tattoo?

How did you know about that? *frowns and tugs at shirtsleeves* A family friend inked me when I was younger. It’s part of who my people are. We’re different. We have… gifts. Gifts normal humans wouldn’t understand.

2. What’s life like having a gift like that?

I enjoy my companionship with Kira, the panther tattoo, but she can make life frustrating too. Going to work, having a love life, even a trip to the store can be an adventure. I can’t wear revealing clothes unless I’m strictly home alone. There’s too much skin for her to frolic on and more of a chance for her to catch someone’s attention when she moves.

3. Ouch! How do you manage relationships with Kira around?

*sighs* It’s been hit or miss. Most of the time, the guys I dated weren’t that great, so I didn’t have to worry about the relationship moving forward. I can force Kira to become a static tattoo, but it takes a lot of energy. With those relationships, I didn’t have to worry much, but I knew Connor was different. I fell in love, but Kira hated him. Other people, she ignored, but him… she didn’t like him one bit. I know why now, but they’re slowly working through their issues.

4. Connor is a werewolf right? What’s it like dating one?

Yes, Connor is a werewolf. He’s a perfect gentleman, and I know he really cares about me. He wouldn’t have come after me if he didn’t. What’s it like? Well, he does have an animalistic side, but he keeps it under control when I’m around. He’s very protective too.
