With a giggle and an outrageous mouth – perfect for things other than talking – Katie comes flying into Xaphan’s life, upsetting centuries of self-inflicted misery. How can he stay true to the one he lost when a bubbly psycho, with mismatched eyes, keeps consuming his thoughts – and awakening his desire?
So she was a tad bit nuts, Katie’s insanity came in handy as the Devil’s favorite problem solver. But killing’s not on the menu when a dragon goes missing, and worse, Lucifer teams her up with Hell’s grumpiest demon. His rejection of her advances only makes her more determined to seduce him. And despite her violent reputation, a part of her is oddly tempted to let him live. The Welcome To Hell stories can be read individually, however, for total reader enjoyment it is recommended you read them in order.
Excerpt: The giggle floated to him from above, light, and cheerful. A promise of mischief. Xaphan ignored it. In Lucifer’s castle, strange noises occurred all the time. He’d grown used to the madness on the rare times he visited, and preferred to avoid it. Getting involved just wasn’t his thing. Besides, he had an appointment with his Lord, and Xaphan loathed tardiness. The high pitched laughter grew c loser, echoing down the swirling staircase, along with an exuberant, “Whee!” An odd swishing noise joined the exuberant giggling and Xaphan finally flicked his gaze upward in time to see the most bizarre sight ever. A female, dressed in a pair of indecently cut jean shorts with a pink blouse tied off under her bosom, displaying a rounded naval where a piercing glinted, came surfing down the banister. Coasting the narrow stone, her arms windmilled as she hopped over the newel post that marked the second floor landing. One foot came up and she balanced precariously, her speed increasing as she continued her descent. “Uh-oh,” she exclaimed as she wobbled. Her eyes widened, her long, blonde pig tails fluttered, and Xaphan sighed. Lunatic. He turned away, not interested in seeing the crash, but he whirled back at her yelled, “Catch me!” Forgoing the remaining feet of railing, the blonde psycho launched herself straight at him. “What the fuck!” One hundred and sixty pounds – a weight he knew well from his endurance and muscle building sessions – of giggling female hit him. Her legs wrapped around his waist while her hands clutched his shoulders. A shrill squeal of delight deafened him. He staggered under the unexpected burden and his hands automatically grasped at her. The touch of her smooth flesh – a perfect handful – made his skin sizzle on contact. “Yippee, that was fun!” the lunatic exclaimed, bouncing in his grip. “For who?” he muttered, juggling, whether he liked it or not, the wiggly body in his arms. A very nice body, with plush breasts that rubbed against his chest, and full ass cheeks made to cushion a man’s thrusting body. “Nice catch by the way,” she added with a naughty grind of her lower parts against his. Damn his cock for waking up with more interest than her antic should have merited. “Did I have a choice?” “A true gentleman never lets a lady fall.” Him? A gentleman? Now that was funny. But not as funny as her other comment. “Where’s the lady?” A brilliant green eye, and a clear blue one, regarded him and the tip of her pink tongue peeked out to lick full lips. “Good point,” she giggled, not offended at all. “But a girl likes to pretend.” To that, he didn’t have a retort, but he did have to fight a smile. She’s crazy, but cute. And sexy, he revised as she again wiggled against him, a deadly combination for males who were available to the fairer sex. Thankfully, he was not, so he fought off her allure. Or tried to, at least. Certain parts of his body didn’t seem keen on cooperating. It didn’t help when she gave him a look over, which involved scanning his features, leaning over to check out his ass, then bouncing her butt again which put pressure on a part currently borrowing more of this blood than he liked. He blamed the lack of hemoglobin to his brain for his inability to drop the psycho on her butt. A twinkle – a naughty one promising delights he’d foresworn – shone in her eyes. “Nice to meet you, handsome. Lady or not, aren’t you glad you were in the right place at the right time?” “Not really.” Words that screamed lie, seeing as how he had yet to let her go. Madness. Pure madness, and he blamed it on her scent, a vanilla like flavor which surrounded him and made his mouth water for a taste. She smiled at his dry retort and her eyes crinkled with mischief. “And yet your grip is so firm.” She chuckled, a husky sound that touched him like a caress. “I have to say, though, landing on you is almost like hitting the floor. All hard and unyielding.” She emphasized her words with a wiggle, which, even he could grudgingly admit, would have worked better naked. Content Editor: Brandi Buckwine |
