Anna Strong from the Anna Strong Chronicles by Jeanne C. Stein

“…can I do this? Can I continue, at least for a while,
to live as both mortal and vampire?
Why not? My entire relationship to humans is based on lies.
This will be just one more.”

Name: Anna Strong
Occupation: Day Job/ Bounty Hunter (Human) As a Vampire, I’m the Chosen One
Species: Vampire
Speaks: Vampire’s can communicate telepathically regardless of their native language.
Age: 30 –when I was turned. Will be 30 throughout whatever lifetime I have.
Height: 5’5”
Hair Color: Light Brown
Eyes: Hazel (Human) Yellow cat eyes (Vampire)
Identifying physical marks: Since I don’t have a reflection, it’s only through other people that I have an idea what I look like. I have been compared to my mother. She and I have the same honey-colored hair, are the same height; both of us are small-boned and slender. Living on a liquid protein diet, however, has honed my physique to lean muscle.
Day or Night – Day. Luckily vampires have adapted to sunlight.
Single or Taken – Newly married actually
Cat or Dog – Neither, animals don’t react well to vampires
Gun or Knife – Neither, as a vamp, I don’t need weapons
Upper body or Lower body – Hmmm….
Blond or Dark —Dark
Two legs or Four legs — Two
Down town or Nature —Both
Love or Sex – Not mutually exclusive, are they?
Bacon and eggs or Pancakes – Type O
Lips or Neck—hello, vampire—what do you think?
Dead or Alive—I’ve known dead “mortals” and vampires more alive than humans.

For those readers who may not know you, please tell them a few tidbits about you, Anna?
My name is Anna Strong. I am vampire. I have been a vampire for almost two years.
What did you do before the story begun?
The same thing I do now. I am partner in a bounty hunting business. It’s lucrative, physical, and non-judgmental. I go after bail skips—whether they are guilty or innocent is not a concern. It was during a fight with a skip who turned out to be vampire that I was turned.
What is your favorite part/memory?
With my family when my brother was alive—a long time ago. Now I look forward to a future with a husband and step-son…a real family of my own. Something as a vampire, I never thought I could have.
If you and your love would go on a date, where would it be and why?
We don’t need to date. We have enough excitement in our lives. Being alone with him is the best thing we can do.
What are your favorite weapons?
Natural endowments—super speed and strength.
What/who would you never want to come across again?
Avery—the vampire who was my “mentor” in the beginning but turned out to be my worst enemy. What made it so horrible was that I thought I loved him. He betrayed me.
If you could have a re-match. With who would that be?
I’ve never yet been beaten in a fight.
How do you see your future?
More positive now that I have a family.

Anna’s shape-shifting friend, Culebra, finally opens up to her about his life before owning Beso de la Muerte, a bar catering to supernatural clientele. As if summoned by the conversation, Culebra’s past stumbles into his bar in the form of an old buddy cashing in on a favor.
Soon Anna, Culebra and her ex, DEA agent Max, find themselves deep in Mexico, dealing with drug cartel infighting, old vendettas, and missing girls. Mexico may just prove to be Anna’s best match yet…
