Firelight by Kristen Callihan
(Darkest London #1)
This book doesn’t fit in one simple category. It’s historical but also contains elements of the paranormal. It’s romantic, enthralling, dark dangerous and sexy.
Miranda is slowly trying to unraveling Archer’s story but also falling in love with him. Kristen Callihan takes sexual tension to an entirely new level. The way she has written down the scene about a single kiss was so perfect, that while reading i was almost creaming “kiss her”, “kiss her”. There were times where the story dragged a bit for me in the middle where I skipped a few pages but that changed by the time i approached the end.
“Slowly, she cupped his cheek. The air grew heavy, her chest tightening with each draw of breath. Archer closed his eyes, seeming to steel himself, and she knew he meant to pull away again. The idea of it slashed at her breast…
Her hand slid to his neck as she closed the gap she could no longer tolerate. Archer’s eyes snapped open, and a tremble ripped through him. “Don’t…” The protest died as her mouth fitted to his.
About the cover. I really love this cover! But don’t let that fool you! Of the 400+ pages only the last 30 of them will she use her powers, the rest of the book is a Historical/detective of Miranda finding out what’s Benjamin’s problem is, and than all wrapped in a stunning story that you will find hard to put down.
The book is really quite extraordinary, totally unique in its genre.
