Three Popular Misconceptions about Shifters Perpetuated by the Media

1               All they can think about when they shift is attacking humans.  Not true.  They just wake up with the most incredible case of the munchies and would also be satisfied with a couple of burritos and a diet coke.

2               There is only one type of shifter:  wolf.  The media is clearly run by canines and prejudiced against cat, bear and bat shifters.  (Bat-shifting Americans aka vampires)

3               They can be killed by silver bullets.  Not true.  In fact, female shifters love their silver bullets.

 

In all seriousness, I love writing about shifters because I get to create my own world.  I can make up the rules for male/female relationships and even male/female/male/male/etc. relationships.  But even though they have elements of the supernatural (shifters) and wish fulfilment (multiple men devoted to the pleasure of a single woman), they are always rooted in the real world, with relatable problems.

In Harmony, Washington, male/females relationships are just as hard as anywhere else, and the people/shifters deal with problems such as lack of trust in a relationship (Claimed by Wolves), PTSD (Desired by Wolves), infertility (Loved by Wolves) and hate-crimes (Taken by Wolves).

The other mandatory feature of my books is a strong heroine.  No matter how hot the sex or how much she loves her mate(s), the woman stands her ground and doesn’t let them overwhelm her.
