My Heroines Don’t Need No Stinkin’ Capes

That’s what I, as a reader, want in a story. My favorite heroines are the ones who rise above their fear and take action to make their lives better. Are they frightened to face the unknown? Hell yeah. But it’s the courage they display that keeps me turning the pages. A great heroine doesn’t need super powers to rise above diversity. She just does. But …you gotta admit, there are some powers that would be awesome to possess.

Blurb of Hero Revealed
:
As a female sheriff in a small town, Brett Briggs faces enough obstacles turning complacent good ol’ boys into a top-notch police force without the added insult of a vigilante apprehending her criminals. Her prime suspect? Kristos Kilsgaard, the sexy river guide who has been open in his desire to move her away from her badge and into his bed.
In his former position as royal guard, Kristos once failed a woman he cared for and as punishment was banned from his home on one of Saturn’s moons. He vows not to make the same mistake with Brett and uses his superpowers to protect her, no matter the foe. Or the cost.
But Brett didn’t become sheriff by letting a man take care of her, and although the hot-as-hell Kristos is persuasive, she’s not going to start now—even after burning it up between the sheets with him. When her town is threatened, they cry out for a hero and she sets out to prove to everyone, Kristos included, that she’s the woman for the job.

Question: What do you think is the greatest power for a female book character to posses??
To be afraid to stand up for themselves, yes they may be afraid, but they do not back down or take crap from anyone.

I think a heroines greatest power is her intelligence. She can overwhelm even the biggest, creepiest creatures with her brain.
Insurmountable strength!

Absolutely! To go forth despite your fear is what a hero or heroine does!
Her wit. I know sort of lame, but if she can hold her own and think fast, I think she can out smart most villains. Otherwise she can have all the super powers known to fiction, and she still would lose because she can’t think fast enough to act on it…

Fierce determination and courage. I love a capable heroine and one that does whatever it takes to get through the day.

Strength both in her mind and her body.
Courage and self-determination. The heroine has to be brave and see things through especially when dealing with the hero and the circumstances that surround them.
