Blurb

There’s only one substance on earth that can create a new vampire–the blood of a Chalice, a rare individual with magic in her veins. Atlanta’s human-vampire Civility Laws demand that if a Chalice is found, she must be destroyed. Vampire Teijon Reyes allowed the mortal girl Dessa Collier to live despite the threat she posed to society. If he ever finds her again, he will kill her, personal desires be damned.

Heiress to a family tradition of ward-working, house painter Dessa Collier has spent the past twelve years pretending vampires don’t exist. When a friend-enemy walks back into Dessa’s life after a decade-long absence, everything Dessa has been hiding from comes crashing down on top of her.

Thrown together on a mission to protect a city under seige, Dessa and Teijon can no longer hide from the powerful attraction that binds them…or the monsters out to destroy them.

My Thoughts

What if your a child and find out that shadows (ghosts of dead vampires) want to drink your blood to become a living vampire again…(that sucks) and then after your first attack you meet the man of your dreams. “Paint For Blood” is a great story and absolute a tease as first book of this series what promises to be an exciting addition to the Paranormal Readers World. Paint For Blood is really a page turner and for me hard to put down. Emily has done a great job writing this amazing story with the paranormal characters like vampires, ghosts, shades and of course the Dessa the chalise.

Emily has written a fast-paced story full of action, love, betrayal and a lot of blood shedding. I did miss a few answers in this story, one relation that ended abrupt and one character that was a complete waist and could be deleted if you ask me! aaah and then comes the cliffhanger, I really hate cliffhangers! Maybe the answers I am looking for will pop up in the second book. I just have to wait and see.Can’t wait!

Paint For Blood is exiting and I believe your definitely going to enjoy reading this one.
Happy reading!

Paranormal Cravings  REVIEW RATING:

Quote(s):
She flexed her fingers around the blade, considered the wicked edge. That thing in the mountain—It needed blood. If she cut herself—

Teijon jammed his fingers in her hair, jerked her head back, and forced her gaze to his. “No.”

“You said no fangs,” she whispered, fascinated by the long, deadly points of his incisors above her. “Never any fangs.”

“Yeah, I guess I didn’t know what the hell I was talking about.” Hunger hollowed his features.

She strained toward him. Blood surged beneath her skin, urged her toward relief.

He released her hair and backed away, one arm extended, palm warding her off. “No, Dessa. No. Kill, not give. Nod your head.”

She swallowed and obeyed him, gaze back to the knife she held. “Even the ghosts?”

“Fucking anything. Stay here. I’ll be back.” ― Emily Ryan-Davis, Paint for Blood
