Review: Hot Blooded (Jessica McClain #2) by Amanda Carlson

Is is again one of the few books from a series that’s on my auto follow list. Every few weeks I browse Amanda’s website to see if there is any news. Slips of hint from the next books… anything! Hot Blooded was a warm welcome. just as expected I enjoyed it full. so much I like to overuse my explanation marks on all (every) sentences in this review.
Previous on this series: After living under the radar for the last twenty-six years, Jessica is thrust unexpectedly into her first change, a full ten years late. She wakes up and finds she’s in the middle of a storm. Now that she’s become the only female full-blooded werewolf in town, the supernatural world is already clamoring to take a bite out of her and her new Pack must rise up and protect her.
Hot Blooded:
Hot Blooded picks up directly where Full Blooded ends, with the evil Goddess (bitch) Selene kitnapping Jessica’s cat shifter mate Rourke away. Of course Jessica will do any thing to find her just found mate. Aided by a little group of supporters containing two vamps, two loyal Pack members, and one very reluctant human. Sounds almost like recipe. But one recepi that works because they have to face a lot of strange paranormal beings like little winged bats from hell, a Troll from rocks, Naiads some kind over water demon and then I havent even mentioned the scorpion spider thingies that keps me eathing through the whole part of that book.
One thing for sure, Amanda has enough imagination to last at least 20 more books. With the smart remark, the spicy attitude of Jessica and hard to kill Human a must read for all.
The only disappoint was that there was so the little Jessica and Rourke time. And that the whole book was only about the road trip to get Rourke back. Somewhere sown the middle I was wondering if the whole book would be only about the trip. And yes alas it is. Still a 5 star read for me… Amanda Carlson hasn’t disappointed me yet!
Little spoiler here. Jessica finds Rourke but Amanda keeps us in the dark if he had a fun time under the silk sheets or not. He said not. But could he be compelled to do. Selene was a strong Goddess. I don’t know if amanda already is finishing no.3 (Cold Blooded (Jessica McClain, #3) of this series but I think Amanda should let Rourke make it up to Jessica some how 🙂 Even if it just for me … uche uche!
Be careful .. cliffhanger at the end so you definitely will be wishful adding(Cold Blooded (Jessica McClain, #3) to your to -read-list in the hopes the times of release will come quick!
