Pamela Palmer: A Forever Love
Hero: Lukas

How did you meet Elizabeth?

I saw Lizzy in a bar in Georgetown, chatting and laughing with a group of friends, and I was enchanted. I introduced myself, joined her group, and convinced her to go to dinner with me the next evening without any need for vampire mind control.

Was it love at first sight?

In hindsight, yes. Now that we’ve been apart for two years, I know it was. That feeling of having my feet swept out from under me has yet to go away.

When did you know Elizabeth was the only one for you?

When I had Elizabeth in my arms, I thought of nothing but keeping her there until the sunrise. When I didn’t, I thought of nothing but seeing her again when the sunset. And now that she’s lost to me…out of my reach…I miss her every moment of every day. But she’s human and I’m a vampire trapped within Vamp City’s failing magic. I have nothing to give her, now, if I ever did.

Without giving too much away, tell us the most embarrassing moment you had with Elizabeth. The most frightening?

The most embarrassing? <smile> Vampires don’t embarrass easily. Perhaps the time I was careless and left bloodstains on her pillow, then had to claim I’d had a brief bloody nose. The most frightening was the moment I realized I couldn’t get back to her. That moment has yet to end.

No spoilers, but what can you tell us about the obstacles you’ve had to face. Have they changed your world view?

If I manage to escape Vamp City, I’ll happily give up everything to spend what time I can with Elizabeth. If I don’t, I’ll be dead.

Hero: Valiance

How did you meet Esme? Was it love at first sight?

Until that night at the store, I would have told you that love at first sight was a new fangled idea people made up to help write music lyrics. But when I saw her, there was something pure about her. Something familiar that I couldn’t get out of my head.

When did you know Esme was the only one for you?

Esme reminded me of who I was now, and yet the best of who I used to be. She’s a fighter that one, and I needed to be reminded that there are things in this world worth fighting for. You’ve just got to look outside yourself to see them. Even at 167, she made me feel like I’d missed everything the world was trying to teach me.

Without giving too much away, tell us the most embarrassing moment you had with Esme. The most frightening?

Fumbling through asking her to coffee. God, I felt like a schoolboy again trying to recite his lessons to the class. I felt like I was all thumbs.

The most frightening moment was when I felt the first shiver of the other vampires return and I knew that I could never have her. In that moment, I was petrified because I did want her, more than anything.

No spoilers, but what can you tell us about the obstacles you’ve had to face. Have they changed your worldview?

Everything’s different, illuminated, if I may be poetic. Technically, I’ve got no family, no clade. But it doesn’t seem to matter because I know who I am now. And I’ve got a date on Saturday night.

Kim Falconer: Blood and water
Hero: Stellan

How did you meet Angelina? Was it love at first sight or?

We met officially on the beach at China Basin. She thought she’d washed up on shore and I had ‘saved’ her. It wasn’t true, but was constrained not to say.

I’ll admit, from the moment I first saw her, standing on the ferry, gazing out toward the setting sun, my heart was gone.

When did you know Angelina was the only one for you?

I knew she was for me when I caught her midair in my arms and we plunged into the Bay. It was glorious, but I couldn’t get swept up. There were too many others watching. I had to pretend it was nothing . . . pure torture.

Without giving too much away, tell us the most embarrassing moment you had with Angelina. The most frightening?

Embarrassing? When my sister, Salila, appeared at the Ralston family dinner, all but sharpening her fangs on every man at the table.

The most frightening was when Angelina threw herself between me and her father’s loaded rifle . . .

No spoilers, but what can you tell us about the obstacles you’ve had to face. Have they changed your world view?

I want to say that my biggest obstacle was our ruler, Teern, and his resistance to my ideas, or my blood hungry sister, Salila, but that wouldn’t be entirely true. Looking back, the obstacle was myself, my lack of trust. Angelina taught me how to get past that, and it’s opened doors that I never knew existed . . .

Vampires Gone WildVampires Gone Wild brings together four paranormal romance novellas by Kerrelyn Sparks, Pamela Palmer, Amanda Arista, and Kim Falconer, authors and bloggers at Supernatural Underground.
Kerrelyn Sparks’s demure Pamela and sexy vampire sidekick battle the Malcontents in “V is for Vampwoman.” Kim Falconer’s aqueous San Francisco vampires in “Blood and Water” want nothing from “landers
” — unless it’s dinner, but that’s until Stellan meets Angelina. Pamela Palmer carries readers to Vamp City in “A Forever Love” where trapped Lukas pines for his lost love. When she appears, Lukas will fight to keep her alive. It’s been a hundred years since Valiance has dated; all is great until they’re attacked, but quiet Esme will shock Valiance in Amanda Arista’s “First Dates Are from Hell.”
